Natural Odor Eliminators: Herbs for Fresh Air & Body Odor
Natural herbs have a multitude of purposes, not the least of which is helping to eliminate smells. Whether you want a natural cure for body odor or a refreshing scent around the house, there are a variety of natural herbs that can help you out.-
Sage, Rosemary, Licorice
-
Many widely available natural deodorants contain sage or rosemary to help combat body odor. Two other ways to use these herbs are either to steep the leaves into a tea or to crush dry leaves into a powder and use them in bath water. The German Commission E recommends four to six grams of sage or rosemary per day. Four grams is roughly equivalent to a teaspoon.
Licorice root, available at health food stores in capsule or tea form, also reduces perspiration, thus reducing body odor.
Tea Tree Oil
-
One natural remedy for vaginal odor is to mix two to three drops of tea tree oil with a cup of water then wash the vaginal area with the mixture.
Pine, Rose, Balsam, Eucalyptus
-
To create a pleasant scent around your home, make a potpourri by mixing pine needles, rose petals, balsam wood, and eucalyptus. Also add an essential oil, such as rose or lavender oil. Substitute any fragrant herbs you prefer.
