How to Drink Clary Sage Oil
Clary sage, a member of the sage family, has a flowering top and upper leaves that grow to a height of two feet. The oil extracted from the leaves and blossoms is often used as a muscle relaxer that can be drunk, inhaled or rubbed on the body. Clary sage oil is non-toxic in its pure form and can be added directly to a beverage. Steeping fresh leaves from the plant also releases this essential oil.Things You'll Need
- 3 tsp fresh clary sage leaves
- 2 spoons
- Small pot with lid
- Tea or fruit juice
Instructions
Gently crush the clary sage leaves between two spoons.
Fill a small pot with a cup of water. Sprinkle the crushed leaves in the water.
Bring the water to a boil, place the lid on the pot, and remove from the heat. Allow the leaves to steep in the hot water for 15 minutes.
Strain the leaves from the water. The extracted oil forms a skin on top of the water. Store the infusion in the refrigerator.
Add 3 tablespoons of clary infusion to a cup of tea or glass of fruit juice, and drink.
