Tea Tree Oil for Foot Burn Marks: A Natural Remedy
Derived by steam distillation of the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, tea tree oil is a traditional home remedy for infections. Its natural antiseptic properties make it effective for such maladies as canker sores, fungal infections, flea bites, earaches and burns. Tea tree oil can be very potent, people with sensitive skin may wish to dilute it with a carrier oil such as olive, jojoba or grapeseed oil before using. Burns should be treated immediately for tea tree oil to effectively remove marks on feet.
Instructions
Place the burn on your foot under cold running water for 1 minute. Alternatively, place the foot under an ice pack for 1 minute.
Apply tea tree oil to burn and let sit for 1 minute.
Place the burned foot back under the cold water or ice for 1 minute. Alternate oil and water or ice applications for 10 minutes.
For the next three to four days, apply tea tree oil to the burned foot twice a day.
