* Articulates with: frontal, temporal, maxilla, sphenoid and temporal bone
* Provides major facial muscles with origin
Also know as: cheek bone or malar bone

* Temporal process projects laterally to meet temporal bone and contribute to form zygomatic arch
* Temporal surface, for origin of masseter
* Orbital portion forms floor of orbit, gives origin to the inferior rectus
* Maxillary process articulates medially with the ethmoid process of maxilla.
