Oat straw tea has been used to suppress anxiety, treat nervous disorders and relieve insomnia. It is high in calcium and magnesium and is believed to help build strong bones and benefit those with osteoporosis. Oat straw is available in health food stores. It is sold loose or in tea bags. A tea or infusion is the simplest method of deriving the benefits of oat straw.Things You'll Need
- Glass jar or cup
- Dried oat straw
- Boiling water
Instructions
Quick Brew Method
Place 1 to 3 tsp. of dried oat straw in an 8 oz. cup.
Fill the cup with boiling water.
Place a lid or saucer on the cup and allow to steep 15 minutes.
Strain and drink as soon as the tea is cool enough.
Overnight Infusion Method
Place 1 cup dried oat straw in a glass 1 quart jar.
Fill the jar with boiling water.
Place a lid on the jar and allow to set 4 hours or overnight.
Strain and drink by cupfuls throughout the day.
