Small Volume Parenteral Products (SVPs): Definition, Uses & Examples
Small Volume Parenteral Products- Are any solution that is made up to or less than 100ml and is to be administered by needle.
- Usually come in glass vials/ampoules (for multidose) or plastic containers (for single dose)
- Sterile, often freeze-dried to improve shelf life
- Usually given IV, or IM and rarely subcutaneous
- Are usually reconstituted at the bedside

- Morphine sulphate
