A tertiary color is created by mixing a primary color with a secondary color.

Examples:

If you mix red (primary) with orange (secondary), you get red-orange (tertiary).

If you mix blue (primary) with violet (secondary), you get blue-violet (tertiary).

If you mix yellow (primary) with green (secondary), you get yellow-green (tertiary).
