Enamel Over Lacquer: Compatibility & Best Practices

It is possible to paint enamel paint over lacquer paint, but it is important to note that this may not be the most compatible combination. Enamel paint contains different solvents than lacquer and may cause underlying layers to lift or bubble. For best results, it is recommended to use acrylic paint overtop of a lacquer base.
