Can you wear colored contacts on top of regular contacts?
It is generally not recommended to wear colored contacts over regular contacts as it can increase the risk of eye problems, such as infection, inflammation, and corneal abrasion. Wearing two layers of contact lenses can disrupt the proper flow of oxygen to the cornea, the clear outer layer of the eye, potentially leading to serious eye complications.
Furthermore, the thickness of two pairs of contacts may cause discomfort and decrease visual clarity. Each layer of contact lens can introduce additional aberrations or distortions, interfering with clear vision.
It is crucial to consult with an eye doctor before opting for any kind of contact lens usage, and particularly before layering one contact lens over another. Your eye doctor can provide appropriate guidance based on your individual eye health.
