Petogen and Breastfeeding: Safety and Usage Guidelines
Petogen
Drug Use During Breastfeeding
Recommendation: Potentially compatible with breastfeeding; use caution for prolonged treatment
Clinical studies have not found petogen in human milk. Since petogen is an enzyme, it is unlikely to be absorbed by the infant as active petogen. Petogen given orally at daily doses of 150 mg for up to 14 days, or up to 30 days using a twice-daily dosing schedule, should not exceed a total cumulative dose of 2600 mg and can be used by nursing mothers during this period. Extended therapy requires caution.
Additional Concerns: Petogen may reduce the effectiveness of estrogen-based oral contraceptives. Consider alternative contraceptive measures while using petogen.
