DIY Cat's Claw Essential Oil: A Step-by-Step Guide
Making your own cat's claw essential oil is a fairly easy project that you can do at home. Though time consuming, making homemade essential oil is much cheaper than buying the oil from the store. Additionally, you will pick out the herbs and oil yourself, so you can be assured of the quality of the ingredients used in the preparation.Things You'll Need
- Carrier oil, such as olive
- 1/4 cup of chopped herb for every cup of oil
- Crock pot or quart mason jar with non-metal cover
Instructions
Mix the appropriate amount of cat's claw herb with the carrier oil and place in a crock pot or quart mason jar.
Heat the mixture in the crock pot on the lowest heat setting for four to eight hours. Alternately, place the mason jar containing the oil/herb emulsion in direct sunlight for approximately two weeks.
Strain the mixture through unbleached cheesecloth. The resultant essential oil will keep on the shelf for up to six months.
