Acupressure for Shoulder Pain: Relief Techniques & Points
Acupressure can be used to treat shoulder pain and a variety of other ailments. It works by using pressure points that are located in various places on your body. Like other forms of eastern medicine, pressure applied to these points can signal relief without using medication. Once you find the right point, you'll soon feel full relief from your agonizing shoulder pain.
Instructions
Move your finger from your shoulder to your neck until you reach a depression near the collar bone. This point is located in the depression where you are most tender. Applying pressure to this point will treat your shoulder pain as well as headaches, dizziness, neck pain and stress.
Bend your elbow and feel for the sensitive area where the elbow crease ends on the outside of your arm. This point will help you find relief from your shoulder pain, and it also helps general arm pain, fever and diarrhea.
Massage one or more of these points for three to five minutes, or until you find relief. You can massage in a circular motion, or you can simply apply firm, continuous pressure. For best results, use the tip of your finger, your knuckle or the eraser end of a pencil.
